Celebrate World Book Day 2015 with Scholastic

World Book Day is a huge celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading in schools, libraries and homes in more than 100 countries all over the world!

You can celebrate with us in all sorts of ways. Have a look at our free classroom resources; share your costumes with us (and win!); find more ideas and activities online; or see our authors and illustrators live!

To help you capitalise on the excitement of World Book Day with your students we’ve pulled together these free resources.

10 things to make and do on World Book Day . These resources and ideas will enable your students to explore books in a variety of new ways.

Make a class book! Encourage your students to create their own books, with instructions for different types such as pop-up books and zig-zag books:

• Pop-up book
• Whole-class story book
• Doors and windows book
• Zig-zag book

Interactive story starters. Story starters are a brilliant way to encourage reluctant writers, or to capture the imaginations of your students. Get children writing their own stories with our interactive story starters.

• No Ordinary Girl story starter
• The Wild Wood of Windyrook story starter
• The Secret of Ata Chalcha story starter
