British Academy Children’s Award nomination for Horrible Histories

The BBC’s Horrible Histories series – based the Scholastic books of the same name – has been nominated for a BAFTA children’s award.

An off-the-wall series that explores the less glorious aspects of the past, Horrible Histories made a super-smooth transition from page to screen. The programme regularly topped the children’s TV viewing figures and got rave reviews from newspapers, websites and – most importantly – children.

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday 29 November 2009 at the Hilton Hotel in London.

Savage Stone Age (TV tie-in edition)
Terrible Tudors (TV tie-in edition)
Woeful Second World War (TV tie-in edition)

The first series finished earlier this year, but there are lots of fun behind-the-scenes clips to whet your appetite at the BBC’s Horrible Histories microsite.
