Curriculum Online and eLearning Credits
What is Curriculum Online?
Curriculum Online is an initiative from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCFS). The objective of this initiative is to transform teaching and learning in schools by improving access to ICT and multimedia resources.
What are eLearning Credits (eLCs)?
The Government has set aside substantial funds in the form of eLearning Credits (eLCs). These eLCs are for all maintained schools, non-maintained special schools and pupil referral units in England.
They are available solely for the purpose of buying certified Curriculum Online products.
How do I know if a product is certified for Curriculum Online?
Registered product is listed on the Curriculum Online website. Also, look for this Curriculum Online logo alongside the product.
Who should I contact if I have queries about my school’s eLC allocation?
The eLC money goes straight to your school so you should contact your head or ICT-co-ordinator.
Can I use eLearning Credits to buy hardware?
No. eLCs can only be used to buy multimedia resources.
Can I spend eLearning Credits with Scholastic?
Yes. Scholastic is a registered retailer of certified product. However you can only use eLearning Credits to buy product thatmeets the Curriculum Online criteria and is certified.
How can I buy a resource from Scholastic using eLCs?
You need to gain approval from your schools eLC budget holder and then simply order direct from us informing us that you are using eLCs.
If you would like to pay for eLC eligible items using your eLC credits from Curriculum Online you must pay via a School Requisition.
All eLC eligible items in your basket will be sent to Curriculum Online, so if you only want to only pay for some of your items with your eLCs, you should break your order into two; one going to Curriculum Online and one that you are paying for directly.
For more advice about using your eLCs please email enquiries@scholastic.co.uk, or call us on +44 (0) 845 6039091 between 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
