Employee initiatives at Scholastic UK

Scholastic employees are involved in a variety of groups and projects within the company and the wider community.

Green Committee

Scholastic is committed to reducing energy consumption and hence carbon emissions by 20% and to improving the environment wherever we can. Employees can make a difference by joining the Green Committee, where new initiatives are discussed.

Employee Partnership Group

The Employee Partnership Group was created in 2006 to develop a communication channel between employees and Executive Management Team.

It is a forum for regional discussion of performance of the business, it’s an opportunity to highlight issues affecting the business and a channel for staff to feed back ideas to management.

Lunchtime foreign languages lessons

Foreign languages lessons are being held at some of Scholastic’s sites. Employees are welcome to arrange the lessons themselves.

Scholastic in the community

Charity giving at Christmas: Scholastic donates £500 to charity at Christmas. Additionally, employees can give to charity every month through the payroll.

Scholastic Climate Survey

Scholastic carries out a Climate Survey every two years. The purpose of the Climate Survey is to test the temperature of employees’ opinions and feelings against a range of subject areas.
