Sally Nicholls author of Ways to Live Forever

Sally Nicholls’ fantastic win was announced at a ceremony at Waterstone’s Piccadilly in February. The prize highlights and celebrates new talent, and winning it is an excellent start for a writing career.

Ways to Live Forever is a scrapbook of lists, stories, pictures, questions and facts put together by 11-year-old Sam. He wants to know about UFOs and horror movies and airships and ghosts and scientists, and how it feels to kiss a girl. And because he has leukaemia he wants to know the facts about dying. Sam needs answers to the questions nobody will answer.
