Kelly
was born in Nebvaska, U.S.A. When she was about six
years old, her dad had his secretary type copies of
poems and he then printed covers with blocks, paint
and an old mangle. This gave Kelly a thrill!
She did not however start a writing career until she
went to Nottingham University where she wrote for, and
then managed and edited Impact, the student newspaper.
Then, in 1996, Kelly joined the WPP Group’s creative
department as a copywriter. Projects included re-writing
a collection of fairy tales, which were read onto tape
by Gary Rhodes and Brain Games, an activity magazine
for children participating in Sainsbury’s School
Rewards Scheme.
Kelly enjoys dancing, playing the piano and watching
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She adores chocolate and admires
Tori Amos because she can play two pianos and sing at
the same time!
Kelly is a full-time writer and lives in Chiswick in
west London with a fridge full of chocolate!
