Success for Scholastic at the Education Show

Last week Scholastic sponsored, and exhibited at, the Education Show in Birmingham. We were able to help hundreds of teachers with advice and resources for classroom reading and – to top off a wonderful event – we took home the Educational Book Award for the 100 Lessons series.

Scholastic Stand - Education Show

Scholastic hosted over 500 teachers in the Reading Hub, where we launched new campaign Open a World of Possible with Tom Gates author Liz Pichon, the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring’s Katharine Bailey, and Scholastic Co-group Managing Director Catherine Bell.

Other Reading Hub events included packed-out sessions from education expert Pie Corbett, Guided Reading talks from the Institute of Education, a presentation on Connectors from literacy expert and head teacher Bill Lord, independent literacy consultant Ruth Sale’s talk on Scholastic Reading Pro and Cengage’s Stephen Graham on the PM reading programme and creating a balanced reader.

A new edition this year was The Reading Clinic, which gave teachers and head teachers the opportunity to sit down one-on-one with our Education Sales Consultants to discuss reading problems in their school.

To cap off a successful Education Show, Scholastic was named the winner of the Educational Book Award for the 100 Lessons series at the Education Resources Awards.

Packed with practical and time-saving resources, the 100 lessons series gives you essential planning guides and lesson plans to help you deliver structured teaching in line with the National Curriculum.
