There’s no other season that inspires literature in quite the same way as autumn does – and there’s definitely no better time to snuggle up with a stack of your favourite new reads. As the clocks go back and winter looms, we’re celebrating with some wonderful books set in autumn.
They’re perfect for teaching children about the harvest season, getting them in the Halloween spirit and showing them why autumn is always one of our most beautiful seasons. Take a look below for five autumnal books we’re loving at the moment.

A great choice year-round, but there’s something about Anne of Green Gables that always makes us think of autumn. Anne is the kind of character that will become a friend for life – our mums loved this book, now we love it. It’s just that kind of story.
