Q: Why are you offering a Help for Households discount?
A: As a specialist children’s publisher and distributor of books through schools, we understand how important it is for children to keep reading for pleasure, both at home and in school. Research shows that children who read consistently do better both at school (in all subjects) and in life. We want to support making books accessible for all children whilst budgets are stretched with the current cost of living.
Q: What is the extra discount you’re offering?
A: We’re pleased to offer an extra 20% on a range of children’s books bought from our September Book Club. The range includes best-selling authors and illustrators such as Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Liz Pichon (Tom Gates series) and David Walliams as well as favourite classics and great value book packs, such as How to Train Your Dragon and the ever popular Dog Man. Many of these titles are already discounted and you will receive an extra 20% off by using promo code HOUSEHOLDS at the checkout, making them really budget friendly. When you order through your school, you can get your books delivered to school for free. Please ask your school contact if they are running the Scholastic September Book Club to take advantage of this.
Q: How does the Book Club work through my school?
A: We offer all schools the opportunity to run an online Book Club in September. The school are able to send parents a link to their particular Book Club and open a School Group Order which collates all parent orders into one delivery that arrives, free of charge, in school ready for you to collect. For every order over £10, Scholastic will donate an additional 20% of the order value to your school in ‘Rewards’ which can be spent on Books to help stock their libraries and classrooms for free thanks to your generosity, so everyone wins.
You can place an order to be delivered to your home address but postage will be charged although your order will still earn Rewards for your school as long as you select your donation school at checkout.
Q: My school hasn’t heard of Scholastic Book Clubs – how do they run one?
A: The Book Club is very easy to set up and run with minimal admin for your school. Please ask your school contact to get in touch with our customer service team at bookclubs@scholastic.co.uk or call us on 0845 6039091 Monday-Friday 8.30am -5.00pm and they can set your school up to run the Book Club immediately.
Q: Can I order more than once?
A: Yes, you can place more than one order. We recommend going through your school as you will not pay a delivery charge if they are running the Book Club. Please note that bulk orders (more than 10 copies of one title) can only be delivered to a school address and not a home address.
Q: How long is the offer valid for?
A: The discount is available for the month of September only and expires at midnight on September 30th 2022.
Q: Can my local nursery run a Book Club?
A: Yes they can run a Book Club by registering with us. Please ask them to contact our customer service team at bookclubs@scholastic.co.uk or call us on 0845 6039091 Monday-Friday 8.30am -5.00pm.
Q: Is the discount available on everything on your site?
A: The discount is only available on the book range in our September Book Clubs offer which can be found here. There are both Primary and Teen offers and everything from picture books, younger and older fiction graphic novels and activity books are available within the Book Club.
