After finding a strange old encyclopaedia of bugs, eight-year-old Max Darwin finds himself mysteriously shrunken and whisked away to tropical Bug Island. There, he learns that he can he talk to the incredible bugs and insects that populate the island and that they need his help. A rival island populated by reptiles is threatening to take over.
