Testimonials

The titles are great fun to use and cover exactly the range of books that children most want to read. It makes it easy to explore texts fully and ensure children want to keep on reading more.” Chris Flanagan, Year 5 Teacher, St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School

Scholastic Read and Respond resource series is definitely a worthwhile and cost-effective resource for teachers in order to promote well-planned, meaningful learning with children in a fun way. Sonia Stephen, Class Teacher

Read & Respond Teacher’s Books are perfect for the busy teacher as everything you need is included in one resource. I love that there are guided reading, shared reading, talk for writing and writing opportunities all in one book as I believe it is so important for children to be immersed and inspired by what they read and then they should be able to produce wonderful writing. Gemma Eckley Gardener, Class Teacher

In Year 6 many of the children were very reluctant readers but since the introduction of the Read and Respond materials, most of the children have begun to really enjoy reading and have benefitted from the variety of genres available to them. As there are a number of the same books the children have enjoyed discussing with their friends which books they have read so far. The activities from the ‘teacher’ books have been used for ‘Big Writing’ tasks and again the children are motivated to write as they so enjoyed the books. The parents love them and especially appreciate when the teachers have set them as reading homework tasks. “We want more!” replied one Year 6 teacher. Claire Bellamy, Literacy Coordinator
