The Jungle Book
The Jungle Book is a classic collection of fables by Rudyard Kipling. Among the most famous are the stories of Mowgli, a ‘man-cub’ raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. On his adventure-filled journey Mogli encounters memorable characters such as the foreboding tiger Shere Kahn, Bagheera the wise panther and the happy-go-lucky Baloo who teaches Mowgli ‘The Bare Necessities’ of life. Other tales in this collection include Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, about a heroic mongoose, and ‘Toomai of the Elephants’, the story of a young elephant-handler.
