Free activities with the Lollies!
Michael Rosen and his judging panel have now announced the shortlist for the Scholastic Laugh Out Loud book awards – the Lollies! To celebrate this, we’ve put together a brilliant collection of activity sheets based on the shortlisted books.
From colouring activities and arts and crafts to extract analysis and Viking name generators, you can inspire a love of reading with these classroom activities to suit every age range. In fact, not only can you have loads of fun, you can also link up the learning to ensure that children are progressing with their reading levels and comprehension skills.
Each activity is linked to one of the books on the shortlist. You can find out more about the awards and the shortlisted books here.
Check out the books with your children and don’t forget to register your class so that they can vote for their favourite. Teachers need to place a vote on behalf of their class before 10th June.
Happy reading – and don’t forget to have lots of laughs!
