What kind of books did you enjoy when you were growing up?

Lots of different things… The Baby-sitters Club was a big inspiration for Girls Can Vlog – I’ve always been obsessed with characters who form a club! Anything by Jacqueline Wilson and Judy Blume. The Drina Ballerina series by Jean Estoril. And Anne of Green Gables which I read about five times.

What’s your favourite book of all time?

The Twits by Roald Dahl

Who are your favourite vloggers?

So many but let’s start with Zoella, Estee Lalonde, Tanya Burr, Miranda Sings, Seven Super Girls.

What made you want to be a writer?

Loving books and living in my imagination, noticing interesting details in everyday life and wanting to record them. Also – a desire to entertain people.

Do you have a favourite place to write?

Sofa at home with a cat on my lap, or a cafe which has the perfect level of background noise.

What helps you write?

Haribo! And chilled music eg La Roux.

What are you writing at the moment?

The third book in the Girls Can Vlog series.

Do you have any writing tips for any aspiring writers out there?

Make writing a priority in your life – try and do a little bit every day.

Always carry a notebook to jot ideas down (or make notes on your phone).

Always finish your writing day at an exciting moment in the story so that it’s fun to come back to.

And maybe most importantly, read everything you can get your hands on!
