Hooray for Silliness!

Children across age groups overwhelmingly agree that their favourite books—and the ones they are most likely to finish—are the ones they pick out themselves.
In fact, when children choose their own books to read, versus having books assigned, they are five times more likely to read the whole book.
And what are they looking for? Well, 70% of children aged 6-17 want books that make them laugh.
So, this April Fools’ Day we celebrate the importance of funny fiction, because developing a love reading is the first step to becoming a lifelong reader. And books that make us laugh are hard to resist, even for the most reluctant of readers. So put aside your squeamishness and grown up sensibilities and embrace the books that give them the giggles.
Here’s some of our favourites to get you started!
