Editorial Assistant – Fiction

  • Location: London Bridge
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Salary: £26,865 per annum
  • Hours: 35 hrs per week
  • Job reference: 25.23

Scholastic is the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books, and in the UK is home to authors and illustrators including Liz Pichon, Julia Donaldson, Axel Scheffler, and Jenny Han, series including The Hunger Games, Horrible Histories and Dog Man, and the home to some of the most exciting and bestselling debut voices in the market. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated new team member as Editorial Assistant.

You will assist the Publisher and the wider fiction editorial team, administratively and editorially, to provide support and ensure the lists are delivered on time and to the highest standards, and the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

You will be proactive and highly organised. You will be required to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, including minute taking and helping the team with metadata. You must display strong writing and communication skills, have a keen eye for detail and an interest in working with a wide range of people across departments.

We are a highly creative fiction team, and we are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who loves bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table; we’d encourage your input on submissions received from agents. A keen interest in, and curiosity about, the wider cultural landscape beyond books would be a huge plus.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV along with a covering letter quoting the job reference number 25.23 to vacancies@scholastic.co.uk .
