The Product team at Scholastic are responsible for reading and buying all the books we sell at our Book Clubs and Fairs, offering a range of product from babies to young adults, across all genres and categories. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for their next step and wanting to develop a career in book buying.
You’ll work at building great relationships with children’s publishers and developing your knowledge across the whole market. You will assist in compiling ranges of the best books, from backlist bestsellers, breakthrough authors and predicting upcoming trends for our audience of teachers, kids and parents.
As the Product Executive, you’ll be responsible for supporting the team across all aspects of the buying process including assisting in offer construction and associated admin. You will have a demonstrable high standard of written and verbal communication, as well as an eye for detail and high-accuracy proofing skills. You will be as good with numbers as you are with words and your Excel and data analysis skills will be second to none. You’ll be flexible and adept at prioritising workload, juggling both long-term projects and short deadlines and schedules.
The successful candidate will be a multi-tasker with high levels of organisation, proven time management skills and able to use their own initiative. Most importantly, you will be passionate about getting children reading and our mission to get every child access to books.
